Re-Launching InvoiceMore
I re-built and re-launched InvoiceMore, my own time-tracking and invoicing software. Since I am doing a lot of consulting lately, I am back to billing for services, time, and sending invoices to be paid by clients. Thus, I felt the pain of this process acutely.
First launched way back in 2009, InvoiceMore is the longest running application I have maintained so far, and the UI was way overdue for a significant refresh. I re-built the whole thing from the ground up with a core service layer that powers the UI, an API, and an MCP that you can connect to AI, so that all features are available equally, no matter how you choose to use InvoiceMore. There is nothing that the UI does that can’t be done with the API, the MCP integration, or vice-versa. All your data is fully open for you to access by default, right from the outset.
The Invoicing Space
The invoicing and time-tracking space seems pretty stagnant. There are many names still around from the time I first launched InvoiceMore, but they are mostly stuck in the past and slow to embrace new AI features. Some have evolved into full-blown accounting systems. Some have been acquired and have jacked prices way, way up. There are relatively few options that are simple and affordable.
That’s where the new InvoiceMore comes in: simple, affordable, fast, and flexible. Invoices are fully brand-able with custom fonts, logos, and colors. Integrated AI in a way that is helpful and non-obtrusive (you can create new clients and invoices with the MCP integration just by telling it to!). Data that you own and can access any way you want, or export any time you need.
Here’s to another 17+ years in the space!
