Joining RentPath as Engineering Team Lead
I put in my notice with NetSuite/Oracle in mid-September, and started with RentPath in early October. There were a lot of reasons why it was time to move on from NetSuite, but that is for another time and another post. I am excited about the new challenges and opportunities ahead at RentPath (they operate Rent.com and ApartmentGuide.com).
Full Time Remote
Although I have worked a lot remotely (typically 2-3 days per week at home over the past decade), I have never worked 100% full time remote, so this will be a bit different for me. I have a great home office setup though, and am really looking forward to having more time with my family this year, and many more years to come. It’s already been such a huge breath of fresh air, and now I am questioning whether I will ever go back to an office again. Remote work truly is the future.
Full JavaScript Stack
RentPath’s technology stack was a perfect match for my skills and what I wanted to work in – full modern JavaScript, React, Node.js for Server-Side Rendering, all JavaScript, all the way down. The past 5 years of my life were spent leading a team working in React and modern JavaScript at NetSuite (converting an old app from Backbone to React, specifically), and it has been my favorite technology stack to work in so far, and it is a place where I think I can provide a lot of value. I am looking forward to seeing what I can do at RentPath.
Here’s to new adventures!
